The dual capacity rating indicates the nominal load capacity of the washing machine, depending on the type and volume of the textiles.
1:10 ratio (Standard Load): Each 1 kg of dry laundry requires 10 litres (dm³) of drum volume. This ratio applies to lightweight or bulky textiles (e.g. duvets, jackets and synthetic fabrics), which require more space in the drum for effective washing.
1:9 ratio (Maximum / Dense Load): Each 1 kg of dry laundry corresponds to 9 litres of drum volume. This ratio applies to heavy or dense textiles (e.g. cotton towels, bed linen and restaurant/hotel linen), which occupy less volume for the same weight.
For optimum performance, the manufacturer recommends loading the machine to 80% of the selected nominal capacity (Standard or Maximum). For example, if the washing machine has a nominal capacity of 14 kg, the recommended load is up to 11–11.5 kg.
